More than 200 healthcare professionals attended this year’s Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (OncANP) Conference that was held February 16-18 at the Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes in Arizona. A total of 16.5 continuing education credits, 4.5 of which were pharmacy, were available to attendees.

“What I love about this conference is the wide range of presentations and how clinically applicable they all are,” said Lindsay Adrian, ND, a physician practicing at the Integrative Health Clinic Cancer Care Centre in Fort Langley, British Columbia, Canada. “The presentation that stuck with me the most as I have come back into the office and am sitting across from patients is Dr Shani Fox's talk on posttraumatic growth. I also appreciated the presentations by Drs Tina Kazor and Lise Alschuler, and Drs Heather Wright and Jen Green, both highlighting the biochemistry research that illustrates the powerful impact of supporting a patient's emotional wellbeing and growth and how that can impact quality of life and survival outcomes.”

“OncANP 2018 met the standard I am accustomed to,” said Akbar Khan, MD, who is the founder and medical director of the Medicor Cancer Centres in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. “It was an opportunity to listen to high-caliber presentations and engage in discussions with colleagues from all over North America.”

“At the end of the conference, I always feel inspired and invigorated to get back to my patients to make an impact in their lives,” Adrian said.

Established in 2004, the OncANP is a professional medical organization committed to advancing the field of integrative oncology to impact patient quality of life and outcomes.

Presentations from this year’s OncANP conference are available online here.

“Even experienced doctors will find the OncANP conference lectures are thought-provoking and will pick up clinically relevant material,” said Khan. “I strongly recommend that any integrative cancer physician or naturopathic cancer doctor attend next year.”

The 2019 8th Annual OncANP conference will be held February 15-17 at the Hilton San Diego Resort and Spa in California. For more information, visit
