Lise Alschuler, ND, FABNO, is a professor of clinical medicine at the University of Arizona where she is the associate director of the Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine. Alschuler obtained her naturopathic medical degree from Bastyr University where she completed her residency in general naturopathic medicine. She received her bachelor of science degree from Brown University. She is board-certified in naturopathic oncology. Alschuler is past-president of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians and a founding board member, immediate past-president and current board member of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She is coauthor of Definitive Guide to Cancer, now in its 3rd edition, and Definitive Guide to Thriving After Cancer.
Kristin Bjornsen is a science editor and writer in Gunbarrel, Colorado. She received a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Colorado Boulder (CU) and bachelor’s degrees in biochemistry and environmental sciences, also from CU. Kristin has worked as an editor at Natural Solutions magazine, Backpacker magazine, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences and has written for a variety of publications. She loves exploring the world with her husband, 2 kids, chow-chow Dutchie mix (“chowchie”) Cody, and 2 cats who rule the house.
Tina Kaczor, ND, FABNO, is editor-in-chief of Natural Medicine Journal and a naturopathic physician, board certified in naturopathic oncology. She received her naturopathic doctorate from National University of Natural Medicine and completed her residency in naturopathic oncology at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kaczor received undergraduate degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She is the past president and treasurer of the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians and secretary of the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology. She is the editor of the Textbook of Naturopathic Oncology. She has been published in several peer-reviewed journals. Kaczor is based in Portland, Oregon.
Kathi Magee has been involved in the natural health industry for over 20 years. Kathi and her sister Karolyn owned a publishing company specializing in custom content creation for retailers and healthcare professionals. From there, she moved to focusing on advertising sales in the professional market. Her last position was Midwest Sales Director for Yoga Journal and Vegetarian Times where she was involved in custom creation of integrative programs for her clients that included print, digital, social media and live events. As a breast cancer survivor, Kathi is passionate about the true concept of integrative medicine, and helping to educate and empower as many people possible!
Liz Plizga, Group Vice President, joined Diversified Communications in January of 2002 and oversees the integrative health portfolio of events and media, which include the annual in-person event Integrative Healthcare Symposium in New York City, and the digital online resources Integrative Practitioner and Natural Medicine Journal. She is also responsible for Diversified Communications’ global seafood portfolio of B2B events and media, including 3 events located in the United States, Europe, and Asia, as well as SeafoodSource, the online news resource covering the seafood industry. With more than 20 years of experience in the exhibition and media industries, she has held positions at Primedia, Inc. Liz lives in Portland, Maine, and enjoys the outdoors with her husband, two kids, and Sheepadoodle dog named Bodie.
