Esther M. Sternberg, MD, holds the Inaugural Andrew Weil Chair for Research in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and is research director of the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, and director of the University of Arizona Institute on Place, Wellbeing & Performance. She earned her degree in medicine from McGill University and did both her residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in rheumatology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She has received many awards, including an honorary doctorate in medicine from Trinity College in Dublin, and was named by the National Library of Medicine as one of 300 women who changed the face of medicine.
