After a long battle with cancer, Rick Marinelli, ND, LAc, died recently in Portland, OR. Dr. Marinelli was a nationally recognized leader in the advancement of pain management therapies. In fact, he was the first naturopathic doctor appointed to serve on any committee of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences. He was also the first naturopathic doctor to serve as President of the American Academy of Pain Management. Dr. Marinelli was a founding member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. His contributions to the field of naturopathic medicine and healthcare as a whole are many.
John Weeks posted a wonderful and poignant tribute to Dr. Marinelli on The Integrator Blog.
